10 Habits You Must Quit To Be Happy

Found this on the internet while I was browsing around, something that would be very useful when you're feeling down. Give it a thought while reading this, it would give you a lot of strength to move on. Have a good day, everyone! :)

1. Quit procrastinating on your goals.
Some people dream of success while others wake up and work hard at it. Action and change are often resisted when they’re needed most. Get a hold of yourself and have discipline. Putting something off instantly makes it harder and scarier. What we don’t start today won’t be finished by tomorrow. And there’s nothing more stressful than the perpetual lingering of an unfinished task.
The secret to getting ahead is simply getting started. Starting, all by itself, is usually sufficient to build enough momentum to keep the ball rolling. So forget about the finish line and just concentrate on taking your first step. Say to yourself, “I choose to start this task with a small, imperfect step.” All those small steps will add up and you’ll actually get to see changes fairly quickly. ReadGetting Things Done.

2. Quit blaming others and making excuses.
Stop blaming others for what you have or don’t have, or for what you feel or don’t feel. When you blame others for what you’re going through, you deny responsibility and perpetuate the problem. Stop giving your power away and start taking responsibility for your life. Blaming is just another sorry excuse, and making excuses is the first step towards failure; you and only you are responsible for your life choices and decisions.

3. Quit trying to avoid change.
If nothing ever changed there would be no sunrise the next morning. Most of us are comfortable where we are even though the whole universe is constantly changing around us. Learning to accept this is vital to our happiness and general success. Because only when we change, do we grow, and begin to see a world we never knew was possible.

And don’t forget, however good or bad a situation is now, it will change. That’s the one thing you can count on. So embrace it, and realize that change happens for a reason. It won’t always be easy or obvious at first, but in the end it will be worth it.

4. Quit trying to control the uncontrollable.
If you try to control everything, and then worry about the things you can’t control, you are setting yourself up for a lifetime of frustration and misery.

Some forces are out of your control, but you can control how you react to things. Everyone’s life has positive and negative aspects – whether you’re happy or not depends greatly on which aspects you focus on. The best thing you can do is to let go of what you can’t control, and invest your energy in the things you can – like your attitude.

5. Quit talking down to yourself.
Nothing will bring you down quicker than berating yourself. The mind is a superb instrument if used right, but when used incorrectly, it becomes very destructive. Be aware of your mental self-talk. We all talk silently to ourselves in our heads, but we aren’t always conscious of what we’re saying or how it’s affecting us.

As Henry Ford once stated, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right.” One of the major causes of why we fail is due to self-doubt and negative self-talk. The way to overcome negative thoughts and destructive emotions is to develop opposing, positive emotions that are stronger and more powerful. Listen to your self-talk and replace negative thoughts with positive ones, over time you will change the trajectory of your life.

6. Quit criticizing others.
The negativity you bleed out toward others will gradually cripple your own happiness. When you truly feel comfortable with your own imperfections, you won’t feel threatened or offended by the imperfections you see in other people.

So stop worrying about the flaws you see in everyone else, and focus on yourself. Let the constant growth and improvement in your own life keep you so busy that you have no time left to criticize others.

7. Quit running from your problems and fears.
Trust me, if everyone threw their problems in a pile for you to see, you would grab yours back. Tackle your problems and fears swiftly, don’t run away from them. The best solution is to face them head on no matter how powerful they may seem.

Fears, in particularly, stop you from taking chances and making decisions. They keep you confined to just the small space where you feel completely comfortable. But your life’s story is simply the culmination of many small, unique experiences, many of which require you to stretch your comfort zone. Letting your fears and worries control you is not ‘living,’ it’s merely existing.

Bottom line: Either you own your problems and fears, or they will ultimately own you.

8. Quit living in another time and place.
Some people spend their entire lives trying to live in another time and place. They lament about what has been, what they could have done, or what might become. However, the past is gone, and the future doesn’t exist. No matter how much time we spend thinking and lamenting about either, it doesn’t change anything.

One of life’s sharpest paradoxes is that our brightest future hinges on our ability to pay attention to what we’re doing right now, today.

We need to live more in the moment. Living in the moment requires active, open, intentional awareness on the present. Don’t fantasize about being on vacation while at work, and don’t worry about the work piling up on your desk when you’re on vacation. Live for now. Notice the beauty unfolding around you.

9. Quit trying to be someone you’re not.
One of the greatest challenges in life is being yourself in a world that’s trying to make you like everyone else. Someone will always be prettier, someone will always be smarter, someone will always be younger, but they will never be you. Don’t change so people will like you. Be yourself and the right people will love you, and you’ll love yourself more too.

10. Quit being ungrateful.
Not all the puzzle pieces of life will seem to fit together at first, but in time you’ll realize they do, perfectly. So thank the things that didn’t work out, because they just made room for the things that will. And thank the ones who walked away from you, because they just made room for the ones who won’t.

No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs. Instead of thinking about what you’re missing, try thinking about what you have that everyone else is missing.

My brain is still filled with fresh taught bass thingy~ X_x

Just finished bass PI, in fact, I finished my class an hour ago. PI classes are normally only half an hour, but this lecturer of mine is really really really really nice that he try to make sure I understand most of the things, and my brain was like OMG I WANNA ABSORB MORE BUT I'M AFRAID IT'S TOO MUUUUCH!!! Okay calm down... caaaaaaalm doooooooown~~~~ .___.

I don't wanna forget anything that I've learned today from Bass PI classes so I think I will roughly note them down here~

REMINDER: Adjust the height of the strings to the fret board. It's easier for me to play when the string tension is lower. And if I don't, the muscles on my hand would develop strangely.  Well, I'd have to ask someone who knows how to do it, I'm kinda scared if I do it wrongly~ :O

So today, Frank was asking me to play 1 2, 1 3, and 1 4 back and forth the fret board. It was easy at first, but until I reach 1 4... seriously... MY FINGERS ARE SOOOOO SHOOOOORT that I have to streeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetch my index finger and my pinkyyyyyyy~ Actually, that's not REALLY hard, what's hard is that, when Frank wanted me to speed up and press the strings, the sound goes "beeeoooonggg"~ which is kinda UGLY! It's kind of a challenge because the tension is kinda high and hard to press at the first few frets. meh. .___.''

Then Frank taught me triads, that's what's supposed to be taught today. C Major triad, 1 3 5, one octave. And because I haven't remember all the chords on the fretboard, Frank was like "ehhhhhhhhh so noob one you!" = = And so he taught me the 1 and 7 finger position in one chord, and 1 5 7, for example, in G major, it's G D G. much more easier huh? daaaaaaamn I find myself so stupid by trying to remember all the chords on the fretboard... = =''' Frank was like "Good luck on that~" lolololol~ = =

Alright, just wanna write down what I've learned today. Half an hour more till my English class. *yaaaaaaaaaaawns~*

YUI vs A-Lin?

I was listening to songs in my iTunes, and all of sudden, I heard a VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERY FAMILIAR intro music, I thought it was YUI's Good bye days, but IT'S NOT! IT'S A GODDAMN CHINESE POP SONG!!! And the background music sounds 80% SAME! OMG! I wonder if anyone ever notice this but I'm sooooooo gonna say it here because it's YUI!!!!

Okay right, let's listen to YUI's Good bye days and then listen to this Chinese singer's song. Listen carefully to the background music.

Now let's listen to the Chinese pop song.

Notice the similarities?? I think it's kinda easy to tell. o.o I think I can even sing the lyrics in YUI's version if I turn off the Mandarin vocal... .___.''

Sadly, nowadays in music industry, using the same chord progression in two or more songs can't be defined as "copying" :/ In fact, you may find 8 out of 10 songs sound the same to each other. And some people won't be able to tell if the music sounds the same because what they really care are if the songs/ melodies are catchy or not to their ears. Just like K-pop, catchy and people can move their body and dance to it. To me, they are more like brain-washing songs. .__.'' No offense to the K-pop lovers. :O

If I didn't choose to study music in the first place, I, too wouldn't be able to tell any difference... I guess... .__.'''

Dewa dewa, till the next time I blog again, though I know I haven't been really active recently. :P

YUI - HELLO live at Budokan

YUI's live at Budokan!!! How I wish I could go to Japan and see her concert at Budokan~! TT__TT

I wanna be someone like her! So gentle and cute and crazy! Most importantly, she's a good song writer, she write songs that touch people's heart...

In my life, I've been searching for what is it that I'm really good at. Though I have come to realise that nothing is easy afterall. Seriously. You can get people to support you from your back, family or friends, though you still have to overcome everything on your own and work hard no matter what. There may be times you feel like you're stuck in one place, not moving at all.

I remember once, a paster said in a church service, that we're like an arrow, we have dreams and we want to achieve it. This is the time when you're like the arrows a quiver behind the hunter's back, being stuck there and you think you're doing nothing. Everytime when the hunter reaches his back and get an arrow, you thought it might be you, but no, not your turn yet, and you feel even worst. Finally, when the hunter grab you, and put you on the bow, getting set, you think "FINALLY! I'M GONNA HIT THE TARGET!", and you realised you're being pulled away, FURTHER AWAY from your target. THIS IS THE TIME you feel even worst and feel like giving up. YES! What could be worst than this? The thing is, the hunter HAVE to pull you, in order to shoot you straight and strike the target! So HANG ON to this VERY MOMENT. When the hunter let go of you, the arrow in his hand~ you will go STRAIGHT and STRIKE the target you want!

And guess, who is the hunter? It's God! :D

Although I've been playing guitar for awhile (still not very good until now) because of YUI, I've come to like bass more and more recently~ XD Especially funk rock genre of songs, the bass sounds sooooo alive in them! They literally make me wanna dance! XD I mean SERIOUSLY!

Here is one of the funk rock bass solo that I saw on youtube. His playing style is called "slap-pop" if I'm not mistaken, correct me if I'm wrong! :P

Interesting, isn't it? I'm going to save up some cash on my own and buy a good bass and learn myself~ Though I'm thinking of changing my major to bass, but yeah, still thinking. Bass, this instrument looks easy, and look like it's nothing or something which is not so important. In fact, it is. It can be the most easiest instrument to start with, but hardest instrument to master, well, that's what I think. Because, for bassist, you need to know the harmony of the whole thing, and if you don't, the whole song sounds off, or you can't play with your band at all~!

Let's say bass is a big tree, and guitar, drums and other instruments are like rain, wind, and clouds around the tree. No matter how strong the wind is, the tree will stand still, or maybe a little bit tilted, and waving his branches. That's just like how bass is, strong and still. WELL, WELL, that's just how I think of bass. It's like the soul of one song, and of course, drums too. You can have piano and guitar playing a song, because piano has the note of bass in it. But if you're to play guitar and drums in a band, that would sound kinda weird... Well, I know people do that some times, I'm just saying most of the time, it would sound weird. :P

Lately I'm kinda always imaging myself playing in a band as a bassist on the stage. It's just so daaaaaaaaaamn cool to be a bassist, especially female, long hair... well, don't really have to be long hair but yeah... XD (Now I'm imaging Mio from K-On! XD) I KNOW RIGHT! Mio is daaaaaaaaamn cool and cuuuuuuuuuute!! Because she's a bassist! XD

Apparently I lost my K-ON pictures so I had to get pictures from the internet and most of Mio's pictures are of fan art~ it's okay! She's still cute and cool even in fan art~! XDDD AND THE MODELS ARE SO DAMN CUUUUUUUTE!!!

Damn, I feel like sleeping now, all of sudden... waiting for time to pass now. Oh yeah, I have to practice guitar for my exam for the week after. It seems like I'm sick of my PL class, just randomness.. lalalalalalaa~~

I HAVE TO DO WELL! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWR~!

YUI is sooooo cuuuuuute~!!! XDD

I just randomly found YUI's pictures in my photo album~ Though these pictures are kinda old (actually only from last year~ XDD), but hope you guys would like it!! ^.^

And a bonus picture of her from a movie, Taiyou no Uta from long long time ago~~ She's like a child sitting alone on the long chair and waiting for someone to come and play with her~ x33

Kitty goreng- I mean... video done thanks to insomnia~! o.O

Wow~ I went to sleep like almost 6 in the morning and I woke up like 9++AM... hmmm... insomnia desu?? =OOOO

Well, since I woke up early and I have nothing to do since I don't wanna wake my room mate up by practising guitar~ I ended up putting my cat's pictures into a video~ daaaaaaaaaamn cute la Sandy~!!!

Tada~ did this with Final Cut Pro X, pretty handy and easy to use for a noob like me~! XDD for now, I can only do this much. I will upload more in the future, hopefully this time I will upload a real video instead of photo clip~ =3

Hope you like kitty~!! ^.^

Wanna play Dragon Nest on your Mac? XD

Recently I've found a convenient application that you can launch windows software easily on Mac without switching from Mac to Windows and back to Mac again. I believe some of you might already know about this program but since I've recently (actually few months ago) switched to Macbook Pro due to education need, lately I have this sudden urge of playing Dragon Nest, one of my favourite online RPG game when I was still on my Windows 7! :OOOO Wanna play Dragon Nest on Mac? Not a big problem after you install this useful thing! :D

Okay, quit the nonsense and here we gonna start installing this application called "Parallels Desktop"! :D This application is similar to "Bootcamp", the difference is that when you're on PD, you don't have to reboot your PC and switch back and forth from Mac to Windows and blah blah~ X_x you can just open your applications/ softwares like a it's belong to Mac! Aaaaaaand, most importantly, you don't have to reserve your partition or RAM for PD like bootcamp! :D Okay, no offense really!!! I just find PD really easy to use~ especially for a lazy person like me~ XDDD

First, we are going to download things off using torrent, if you don't have one, please download from here:

Download Parallels Desktop torrent from here (due to some reason, '.org' can no longer be used, please change the '.org' in the link to '.se' :) ) :

AND this:

Windows can be downloaded from here (same as above, change '.org' to '.se') :

********************************

Step 1: Uninstall any Parallels Desktop if you already have one. If you don't, proceed to step 2. :)

Step 2:
Extract "appd.in_PD6%5BK%27d%5D.zip" and open "Parallels Desktop.dmg". Click 'Agree'. And you will get this:

a) Run "Cleaner & License Reset".
b) Run "Activation Blocker".

Go to your "Download" folder in Finder and find a folder name "Parallels Desktop 6.0.11994 [Mac]-[CyberPiraten]"
c) Run "PDInstall.dmg" and install!! :D

The installer will ask if you want to install the latest version of PD, select No, install current.

When you're done with installation, open your PD and activate with the serial in the instruction text file.
and DO NOT register when the software ask for registration.
   i) Exit the window
ii) Press "I Don't wanna register"

(You might see another "cleaner & license Reset" and "activation blocker" in this folder, but in my case it doesn't work, so I used the one in "appd.in_PD6%5BK%27d%5D.zip", you can still try it on your Mac if you wish ;) )
(Also, there's an instruction text file in both folders, you can also read instructions from there! :) )

Step 3:
a) Now, run PD in your Application folder and you will see this on PD start up. Select "New Windows Installation".

b) You will see this page. Now, select Windows image file.

I chose Windows XP SP3, it's activated so it makes my life even easier! ;)

 c) When you're done, press Continue.

d) Choose a style of how you would want your Windows application work. I chose "Like a Mac"! It's much more easier for me that way~ ;)

 e) You're almost done! Now, create your Windows XP! Don't forget to name your Windows! ;)

YAY!!! Now that you're done, you will notice a PD icon on your desktop!

Some of you might encounter problems like, couldn't open PD, don't worry~ stay calm and let's do this~! :D

This was what I encounter.

Shiet I was like, DAMN!!! It's not working on me again!!! I bet you have the same idea as me, I hope this will help you! :D

1. Launch AppleScript Editor (it's in Utilities folder. You can also use spotlight to search if you're on OS X Lion).
2. Create a new file (File > New)
3. Copy and paste this into the editor:
do shell script "for x in prl_hypervisor prl_hid_hook prl_usb_connect prl_netbridge prl_vnic; dosudo kextutil -q \"/Library/Parallels/Parallels Service.app/Contents/Kexts/10.6/$x.kext\"done" with administrator privilegesdo shell script "open -a \"/Applications/Parallels Desktop.app\""
4. Select File > Save, call it Parallels Desktop Launcher, put it it the Applications folder and set type to Application:
or download from HERE

Tada~ now I can open Windows XP on my MacBook like it's belong to Mac!!

For me, after I installed my PD, there wasn't any internet connections on my Windows XP, so what I did was this~

1. Open virtual machine configuration and change the OS type for your virtual machine to the correct one - Windows XP

configuration option is at the bottom right side, the icon looks like a tool~

2. Switch to Hardware tab and in Boot order section insert the following string under boot flags:

 devices.net.force_adapter_type=rtl

3. Click OK to save and close configuration. Then, start the virtual machine and install the network adapter. (if it's not installing automatically)

TADAAA~ now you're ready to play windows games on MAC! :DD (Sorry people... I'm just THAT desperate... = =)

And one of my favourite online music streaming software~! :D

Yayyy!!! This post has finally come to an end! I really hope this would help anyone of you who has problem out there! I tried this program few times in different ways but they all failed! So I kinda combined some other ways, and this it successe! I even tried to install on my friend's MacBook Pro OS X Lion, it's working perfectly too! :D Hope you enjoy your outcome! ;)
